Roosevelt High School Robotics

For a STEM project in 2018, my goal was to introduce the school to a Robotics engineering afterschool activity because Roosevelt had participated in VEX robotics competitions in years before and had some of the required materials to do so, but hadn’t done so in years due to lack of interest and/or funding. My goal was to convince the alumni association to fund a robotics team and get the school back into robotics competitions.

I was successful at obtaining funds for robotics education and got a team to participate the following year. With help from David Hamada, former robotics leader, and the ingenuity of the robotics students, they qualified for state championships.

Unfortunately, due to covid, robotics had to be canceled for the past year, but this year, I’m hoping we get to participate again.
